Tell Congress to protect AmeriCorps programs from elimination

These programs play a vital role in supporting summer learning

The budget proposed by the White House for FY 2020 would shut down the Corporation for National and Community Service, which oversees programs like AmeriCorps VISTA that provide vital human capacity for summer learning programs. These service-members support learning and enrichment activities, engage with families, and develop new programs and processes that last long beyond their individual year of service and leave a positive impact on our most vulnerable communities.

  • In June 2019, the House approved the minibus budget bill (H.R. 2740) that includes $1.14 billion for the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), an increase of $55 million above the 2019 enacted level.
